This year has gone by so fast and the AZMerit is already here. We want to thank you for your hard work and dedication in helping us prepare all of our students for this important time of the year. We also want to take this time to demonstrate our sincere appreciation to all of our staff members for their tireless dedication and effort. Every staff member here at Wade Carpenter cares so much for our students. Student achievement and student safety is a top priority at all times on our campus.
Make sure to recognize and thank our Science Department for their outstanding effort during the 2nd Annual Science Night Under the Stars. Mr. Thomas, Ms. Gautam, Mr. Carrasco, and Ms. Cota were exceptional in their planning the activities on March 23 at Wade Carpenter. There were over 220 projects on display that incorporated different aspects of science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM) components. The Green Valley Sonora Astronomical Society displayed their telescopes. The Arizona Sonora Desert Museum had live animals on display, Unisource Energy Services (UES) had multiple presentations to share with our School Community, and the Tumacacori National Forest Rangers brought exhibits of different types of animal skulls.
We continue to conduct our Professional Development Check-Ins between Administration and the different academic departments. Administration met with our After School Tutors and reviewed the AzMerit Blueprints. We focused on the topics that need to be covered in Math and English Language Arts for the AzMerit. On Tuesday, March 28, we collaborated with the Science Department and reviewed the importance of moving as many students as possible to Meets on the 8th Grade AIMS Science Test.
Good luck to all of our students during the AzMerit and the 8th Grade AIMS Science tests that will be taking place over the next few weeks. We are so proud of all of our students and we know that Wade Carpenter will be successful this year.
